Disasters? Terrorism? How to Buy a Safe Home PDF Print E-mail

How can we keep our families safe during times of emergency? Think about wild weather, natural disasters or terrorism. They are all possibilities!

Because many people are concerned about natural disasters, terrorism or weather problems...it is a good time to think about buying a home where your family can be as safe as possible. I'm here to help you find TN Real Estate that will provide a safe haven for your family.

If you are looking for a safe home, here are a few suggestions to keep in mind:
1 - Drive a few minutes...and away from heavily populated areas.
2 - Look for a wooded lot or parcel - this would provide firewood in case of an emergency.

3 - How about water? A pond, creek or even a swimming pool would provide a source of water. But, don't forget to have a way to purify this water in case your city water isn't available.

4 - Consider solar power, which is worth its weight in gold in case of a power outage. If the home doesn't have solar panels, you can buy portable panels that will give enough power for a few lights, computers or TV.

5 - Does the home have a wood burning fireplace? You can install an insert, which not only can keep your family warm in cold weather...but has a top surface to prepare your meals.

6 - Does the home have extra living space? This would come in handy for additional family members to come to during an emergency.

7 - What about storage space for food that can be prepared if you can't use your stove? A basement or large pantry should be sufficient.

With the weather becoming so un-predictable...with terrorism continuing to be a possibility and with natural disasters all around us...it is the wise person that makes some advance preparation for their family. I'm here to help you find a property in TN Real Estate with these benefits. Just call me ezinearticles
